The small town of Hawkins is shocked by the mysterious disappearance of 12-year-old Will Bayers. The light on this business can shed a street girl named Odi, who escaped from a secret laboratory and has telepathic abilities. Will’s quest leads to exposing the dark government secrets and the collision with supernatural forces.
On October 27, Netflix posted the second season of the fantastic series “Very Strange Deeds” in the network, which had a huge success with viewers last year.

The continuation action begins a year later. At Hawkins, a small American town, everything is calm at first: the mysterious monsters from Iznaki have never appeared again; the Will Bayers seem to be fine, although they are periodically disturbed by terrible visions. There is no news from the missing Eleven, and everyone seems to have resigned to not return it. Only Mike from time to time turns to her on the radio, hoping to ever hear the answer …

For which it is definitely worth praising the second season – it turned out not less, and maybe even more atmospheric than the first. With a fairly straightforward plot (he’s still rolling around the fight against the unknown evil with Iznakni) and a lot of open borrowings and a cliché “Strange Deeds” do not look bored, on the contrary, all nine episodes can be “swallowed” in the evening and want additive. And this is largely due to the very special, carefully maintained cozy atmosphere with a light flush of mysticism.

This atmosphere is still created and maintained thanks to the attention of the creators of the series to the signs of that time. In the yard of October, 84th, in the cinema show the first part of the “Terminator”, the four main characters on Halloween dress up in the Hunters for ghosts, on the background sounding songs Scorpions and The Clash.

The second season becomes larger, the mythology and the world of the series are expanding, and the central conflict becomes more complicated. New, almost all, very colorful and memorable ones are added to the list of actors. For example, a former reporter, a sarcastic person, strangled by conspiracy theories and loving to drink a glass of vodka “Metropolitan”, so that it was easier to think. Or a cool red girl skater Maxin nicknamed Mad Max – a new link in the company of protagonists, who came to replace the missing Odi / Jane.

To the main conflict is added a lot of secondary, and with them and the side branches of the plot. Most of them are woven into the story very organically and do not interfere with the development of the main line. The only exception, perhaps, are the episodes devoted to the Eleventh and her attempts to find a family. These two series completely get out of the general rhythm and, in essence, do not bring anything significant in the series: Odi’s mother seems to have entered into history only to help her daughter quickly find Eight, another girl with paranormal abilities, but also Eighth not played no role in the main plot. She appeared only in one series, and only then, to help the Eleventh “to pump”, and with a very stuffy way: in what movies and TV shows we did not see that. The unfortunate mad mother of the Eleventh is also quickly forgotten. Both characters are simply thrown out of the plot for no apparent reason, their lines are not completed, many questions about these two are left unanswered, and therefore they seem completely superfluous. It remains only to hope that in the third season (and he will most likely be – in the final there is a bold hint of continuation), we will still tell the detailed story of the Eighth and the mother of Odi.

The series still has a lot of stamps and cliché characters: the death of one of the secondary heroes, arranged according to all the laws of the soap opera, love triangles (fortunately, only a single time is devoted to a lot of time and attention), the aggressive half-brother Max, who looks like walking a bundle of stereotypes about cool guys, there are scenes that are saturated with ridiculous and inappropriate pathos, and so on. Some actions of characters are illogical, and even at all give an outright foolishness. So, just amazingly short-sighted Dustin arrives, deciding to shelter a creature from Iznakni in his own house. Although at first the creature is small and, in general, harmless, after familiarizing with the inhabitants of Iznakni, at least for a minute, there is no doubt in his safety – it is rather silly. Especially after an unknown animal began to grow rapidly on an ascetic diet from one candy nougat alone, in the process becoming suspiciously toothed.

However, the growth of the scale of the central conflict and the resulting increased tension in the main storyline, in general, quite successfully overcome these shortcomings. If in the first season the heroes were threatened with only one monster, then an entire army with Isnakni is coming to the city, and instead of the “primeval” tick-borne fear for the character’s fate, at times, you experience the most real fear. Particularly uncomfortable at the end of the season, when the heat of passions reaches its peak, and the cowards are so much caught that, when viewed from some scenes, breathtaking.
